Incense Smoker Museum
More than 3,500 Erzgebirge incense smokers from eleven decades await your admiration in Cranzahl. The museum is open all year round from Monday to Saturday – it is only closed on public holidays and Sundays. The size of the exhibits varies between 5 and 70 cm. Most of the incense smokers are made of turned wood, but some are carved, while a few unique pieces are made of natural materials or ceramics. The figures represent professions, Father Christmases, snowmen and railway workers, among others. They come from various lenders, but some are also from the company's own production, Lenk & Sohn, donations and from the ALT gegen NEU (old for new) incense burner exchange, which always takes place on the Saturday before the first Sunday in Advent. And so there is also a well-stocked specialist shop on the premises. Every lover of Erzgebirge folk art will find the perfect gift here!
Parking spaces for cars and buses are available directly at the museum. Advance booking is required for larger groups.
garden railway
Since 2025, the garden railway layout at the 1st Räuchermann Museum in Cranzahl has been open to visitors on certain days of the year. These dates and operating times are announced on the museum's website and, for example, in the online calendar of the DAMPFBAHN-ROUTE Sachsen. The layout on display consists of three themed sections: one in the style of the GDR Reichsbahn in general, a city section and a Swiss section. Appropriate garden railway vehicles from Märklin/LGB in Göppingen are used. The layout features tracks with a gauge of 45 mm and a total length of 352 m, as well as 79 points. In addition, there are around 1,000 trees, nine stations, 52 houses and more than 500 miniature figures. Of the more than 20 trains available, up to 13 can be in operation at the same time. This means that there is always something going on and lots to discover!
