Profimodell Thyrow was founded by committed model railroaders in 1992 and is located in the federal state of Brandenburg. While the first small-scale models were made from white metal, today’s large-scale production involves the use of iron casts for plastic injection moulding. Despite the very high initial cost, this process is the only way to guarantee an effective production of models that can be offered at reasonable prices.
Werner Hammer became the owner of the Dresden-based traditional company of technomodell on first July 2009. Today, the team of pmt in Dresden also makes models in H0e scale. The company’s first own products include an unpowered model of the I K No. 54 steam locomotive and an H0e-scale model of a train of the Royal Saxon State Railways, run by the SOEG in Zittau. With these novelties, pmt/technomodell has received positive feedback from many model railway enthusiasts.
